lulz, i feel like i just bought a trio of redtail catfish. i'll keep em for a while, and if they get too big i'll rehome them.

seriously though, wow. I figured they would be similar to a chalceus, but i guess i was wrong.

Hey I wouldn't worry about it right now..It's not like they're gonna start eating all your fish like a redtail.Mine are in with quite smaller fish and has never bothered them:)

I'd always be wary of any freshwater aquarium fish labeled as a ____ "shark." They always end up being HUGE when they grow up. ;)

Well, except the red tailed and rainbow sharks... But ID sharks, bala, etc. ALL HUGE.

well thats good. I actually was stupid enough to buy a redtail once. got him as a little 2"er. I had an obsession with monster catfish. He managed to eat everything else I had, except for a jade goby that was too fat to fit down his throat and a bite sized jack dempsey he never acknowledged existed. he even managed to eat a lima shovelnose that was longer than him.

They're quite good at eating fish that you wouldn't think they could. My little jade goby is survivor as well.Nobody's ever bothered him even though he's in with fish that are over 3x his size.

i'm wanting a jade goby again. I shouldn't have gotten rid of mine. He was almost like a rock. I'd see little snails crawling around on him sometimes. had to physically move him when i was cleaning the tank. Of course, as soon as food touched the water he was darting all over the place, trying to beat the RTC to the food.

Mine spends all day standing straight up in the plants..till the food hits.as soon as I open the lid he's right there waiting lol.My knife doesn't bother him at all but I guess he feels he has to hide from him:D

hehe. mine was best buddies with an oscar for the longest time, but the oscar became RTC food. I think i'll try and find one. I just hope my EBJD allows it. of course, it's so passive agressive... "IM GONNA GET ALL UP IN YOUR FACE BUT NOT ACTUALLY TOUCH YOU AND RUN AWAY IF YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!!"

lol..that's what my tinfoil used to do to my odoe.He tried to do it to the knife till he finally snapped him.He keeps to himself now:)
