What a lot of discus keepers do is to raise the temperature to 35C and keep it there for a week. Flagellates don't like high temperatures. I don't keep rays but I would imagine that they can stand these high temps for a week or so. Just put an airstone into your tank for better aeration

I wouldn't dose with metronidazole if I wasn't 100% sure that my fish are suffering from flagellates. No need to get it of a vet BTW. Your own doctor can prescribe it. Brand name is Flagyl and there are numerous generics. You don't mention how much you dose so I cannot comment. Metronindazole is pretty hard on your filter bacteria so keep an eye on water parameters.

I don't know if Sera products are available in Australia but they have a new product called Sera med professional Flagellol. A lot of discus keepers swear by it .

Here's the link to the product information http://www.sera.de/index.php?id=709&L=1

Yea its alot tougher here.
my doctor wont proscribe me anything if i said it was for my fish.

the vets in my state dont even. its sad i know.

its a 400mg per tablet of metronizdazol, ive been dosing by soaking pellots in it.

my females waste has changed from very light /solid to a darker solid colour. (which is good)

but im just not sure about the male.... :(

time to change your doctor lol

My one doesn't even ask any more. Even gave me a 'goodie' bag when I went for my yearly check up last week
