lol no, 90 is too high unless it's a Haitian Cichlid.....86F is good.....86F is perfect for speeding up the life-cycle of Ich and snuff out the hatching eggs w/ salt or medication. 90F is very harsh for a lot of species, especially those that are stressed...................... SUPER-especially for fish that are stressed from unbalanced water conditions., I would not do it. Other than that I agree w/ every post here 99%. Good responses, Fellaz.

Agreed, I was just giving a range because most heaters are a dial/guess/hope setting, unless you're using digital. I think his mollies could handle it but I probably should have just said mid 80s.

So much advice yet no details on the OP's tank...

What filtration do you have?

What are parameters out the tap like?

How was the tank cycled?

Any substrate?

Whats full stock list?

Should also add, whats your water change schedule and how much each time?

M MaryH have you tested your tap water at all? Coz some people have high nitrates or ammonia etc out of their tap water which can obviously mess with chemistry...

Also, as a word of advise, fish can actually adapt to PH quite well as long as it stays stable, what can hurt a fish more is the constant tampering of PH levels from acidic to alkaline and vice versa...

Same goes with water hardness etc, there is no real need to mess with it, unless you have really soft or hard water, and a species that extremely sensitive to these parameters, you can leave it as is, or add some decor to help raise / lower it naturally such as driftwood etc...

Aquarium Gavel

6 guppies (had 8 - 3 died, but one of the babies is now an adult) had some babies other guppy babies, but not seeing them right now too small to see.
1 Mollie (had 3 - 2 died)
4 Red Tetras with white on fins
4 Black Tetras with white strip
5 Neon Tetras
2 CoryCats
2 Shrimp - have not seen them lately
4 Assassin Snails
Cant count the Bladder Snails

My tank is a 45 gal tank

Thinking I need to get a master testing kit to get the right levels. Just did the weekly wc and added the Aquarium Salt to help with the ick. I also use Prime for my wc to take out chemicals and prepare the water. The levels seem good so far, so Im going to just watch the fish and monitor. They seem to be swimming around pretty good, better than what they had been.

^ definitely try and get the API liquid master test kit, That will be good for testing the basics...

Everything else you say you've done in the last post seems good too, just need to wait for the ick to clear, and keep up with water changes...
