Maybe some large river stones mixed with the branches could make a nice scape. Plants that I know are good beginners are anubias, java fern, java moss, and multiple species of Val. The moss could be used on the wood, anubias on rocks, and the Val and fern could be used in the background.

Alright sounds good, I got these branches from blooms and branches and was hoping to sort of make a root structure. Possibly line up some rocks in the background as soon as the tank cleared up a bit. Maybe take the lids off too.

Also does anyone know of any rocks that are inert or a good brand of fake rocks or where to get large river rocks and such.

If you want a way to test if a rock is inert all ya got to do is put a cap full of vinegar on it and if it fizzes like pop then it's no good. If you want to test if it contains iron all ya got to do is put it in a bucket of "tank water" and leave it in there over night. Test it the next day and if the PH is higher then the tank you got the water from it's no good it's got iron in it.

Personally I like how it looks in pic A. It would be better if you had a bit of rock work in there to accent the front of the branches and if ya had some taller background plants, behind the branches, I think it would bring it all together nicely.

Amazon has some great fake plant vines that really look fairly authentic. You can attach them to your wood for some greenery and color. Here they are in my tank

Ooh, yeah I also liked pic a but when I added the rams they all went for the same territory and started fighting. I also have some fake plants but am trying to move into live ones, but if i can get a link to those vines please, they look really good. I will be ordering lava rock as soon as this pandemic is over. Will also have to get myself one of those plant bundles. This is how I have it right now and I'm going to plant it and add more rocks, it was based off of an image I saw online. Also I'm waiting for my pothos in the filter to root so I can wrap the long roots around the wood and also add moss.20200321_100855.jpg

Also any ideas on how to make the top of the branch on the far left look thicker kind of like a root? Also a while ago I tested the rocks that I currently have and they all seem fine. At first I added then to bring BB over from one of my tanks but they looked nice so I kept em.

I liked the first picture, but then saw your last and like that best so far. I think adding a bigger plant where the branch going up would look nice and help balance the single plant in the center.

I think your decor would pop more if your background was black. I know you didnt ask for that but that's what I would try.
