isint there food specially for blood parrots, faded, or pale, the food helps theyr color look bright orange/red i have the same parrot btw, gray with blk stripes, hes very friendly and not shy at all, all my other blood parrots, you only see them like once a day, they are shoved in theyr cave ALL DAY! makes me wanna remove theyr hiding spots so they can get used to us once and for all xD

I agree w/ Chris its an Unfaded Blood Parrot plain n simple I have bred female parrots for a while now and once it is bred to anything the body and notch mouth is changed. Just because it has stripes dosn't mean its a con mix.

Good ways to help the fading process for me are high protein foods, natural or light colored decor, and clean water. Also fading might depend on its genes read this sticky http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?396860-Faders-explained

Coming from someone thats ran 5 Petsmarts in my area...ive never seen a "faded" parrot come in or leave my buildings looking anything like that. I personally think thats a beauty! I have a tank filled with king kongs..I'd love to get my hands on one of those guys! :)

No its not, Petsmart is full of them. Hell I have 2... If they came from Petsmart then it is low quality because the unfaded $10 Parrots are the ones that would normally be culled.

That Parrot is an unfaded Blood Parrot.

Here is one of my oldest ones.

It's just an unfaded blood parrot...no convict in this fish.

not a con cross. unfaded parrot. since they have lots of synspilum blood and some devil they can get that baby syns colouration like yours is exhibiting, as well as stress bars they use for cammo, or this could possibly be from barred midas gene though that is more rare, if that is the case it will remain striped. Ive only seen a few of these though out of the thousands of parrots ive seen.
