elong would outgrow it. if you want a p, s. sanchezi or s. irritans could work well in there for a long time. i'd probably get some jewel cichlids in there those guys are nasty

A male convict by himself would work for a 30g tank.

get a wimple pirahana (Catoprion mento)

Adult size around 5", and is never classified as a true pirahana, a true Oddball! ^^

go with a grass pickerel. they stay fairly small (8 inches), and will obviously take feeders. they are also known as red-fin pickerels, because of their pretty, red fins.
