I decided to get an oscar. Would a school of 5 giant danios possibly a bgk and a large pleco work in the same tank?

Silver Dollars work good with an Oscar if they are too big for its mouth. I had large danios with my O ... now I have none.

you really made a good choice by getting an oscar... idk about to many tricks but i had my 3 inch red oscar for a month and one day decided to teach him to hand feed by jumping out of the water, needless to say he learned that day. and i always make sure i feed him before all the other fish. they are really cool fish!

by tricks I mean begging and generally acting cute or hand feeding so you solved my problem

Pretty much all of the amphilophus, flowerhorn, haitiensis, and oscars out there will be what you are looking for. Pick based on looks (and typical temperment if you want to put other stuff in the tank such as dithers, catfish, etc...(a flowerhorn, hait, or trimac will probably kill anything you put in with it)) hahaha.
