just thought of a couple more questions...

what type of filtration are you using? Is there any surface agitation being caused by a HOB filter etc?

do you have a co2 sensor in your setup? if not have you tested for co2 levels to see if they are high enough? you should be able to buy a test kit at your lfs if you don't already have one...

Are the bulbs new or used? They generally only last up to 6 months or so before you need to replace them. also i've read mixed reviews on the value of these bulbs for plants but I have no personal experience with them so i can't say for sure. do some research on them and see what you come up with.
 
here is co2 if you guys told me how to make a homemade co2 thing for my tank size i could do it i get out of school tomorrow

I have a HOB filter on lowest possible power
Bubbler turns on at night when the light goes off
So there is some surface aggitation

I have not tested Co2 and didnt know u needed to

Bulbs are brand new only been used for 4 or so weeks
 
personally i would cut out the liquid ferts for now until you get the algae under control. buy a good test kit and test out all your levels...if any one specifically is low then get a specific fert for just that. Example would be iron, if iron is low get a fert specifically for iron instead of a general liquid fert as those add all kinds of stuff you may not need which could also be causing your algae problems. at the very least the general liquid ferts would be adding to the problem so i always vote against them.

generally you do not want to use any HOB filters with a planted tank that has co2 injection because any surface agitation will release the co2 so it acts as if you are not even adding the co2 in the first place. check the sticky for further details on this.

if the surface agitation is causing a problem you would be able to tell once you tested for co2 so that should be easy to rule out. they also sell these little plastic sensors to give you a general idea of levels of co2:

what do you mean when you say the bubbler goes on at night? are you referring to an air pump? if so, thats good...

does your co2 run 24hrs a day or just during the daytime and then oxygen at night?

if the lights are new they should be good to go...

wat do you suggest for a filter then if no HOB?
and i will pick up a new testing kit this weekend as well as the best filter for planted tank once i get some advice
 
ok cool...before you spend any more money on a new filter check your co2 levels to make sure you need it. w/o seeing your tank in person it's hard to tell for sure i'm just going off of my general knowledge. if you do determine your HOB filter is generating too much surface agitation i would suggest some form of canister filter but for a 10g that might be overkill. i'm sure there is someone on here that has a small planted tank that can make a recommendation. also, you should check the stickies as WyldFya has consolidated a ton of great info on planted tanks...
