  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What are the dimensions of the 150 gallon? 6 foot long tank will do fine, but if 4 foot long tank then not good. What size tank are you keeping the clown knife in currently?

my clown knife is temporarly in a 30 gal tank cuase his tankmate wont stop bothering it...

within a week i'll be having a 150 gal thats 6ft long.

Definetly a desent price. Is this a quality fish store? Does this pricing go along with the rest of there prices or are they trying to move quickly for a reason?

Mine grew from 3.5" to 15" in 13 months, there is another member here on Mfk, hers grew from 6" to 16" in 5 months, Growth rates can vary but either way you need be prepared to house an 18 -20" within a year. From what I understand their growth then slows down.

yea the fish store is pretty expensive...

they got 1.5 ft pacu's at 20 dollars

10 inch ornate birchirs about 48 dollars each

a black arowana for 30 bucks...about 6 inches.

and 2 silver arownas each both at 15 bucks each, 5 inches and i think the other silver is 7 inches.

and every other fish thats at petco.

Holy smokes!!!!... I would go for the black for 30 bucks that price is unheard of. If not post where this store is and I'm sure some MFKer here will buy tomorrow.

Any how it sounds as if you have a few options if the clown and aro don't get along at first. I'm sure that once they are equal in size the problems(if any) would seise. They each inhabit different areas of the tank so I dought there will be any problems.

Once you do get these fish/tanks you will need to post pics...

Dude I'd buy the black....30 buck's, thats a steal
also it wont get as big as a silver, if you are planning on putting them into a 150 gallon tank for life. Or if you get a good deal on a really large tank, get a silver and a black.....keep them in the big tank and feed them a good varied diet, with pristine clean water and temp at 82 so they get big fast. Get a 55 for your CK and introduce them together when they are a bit larger...REMEMBER though do not feed your CK as much....definately feed your CK but semi meager compared to your aro's IF you wanna try to inroduce them to each other.:D

I have a 20" silver with a 22" CK, and both are doing fine in a tank with clarias, a tiger shovelnose cat and a spotted gar. :)

well...i guess i'll get the black arowana instead...but i kinda just want to get a regular silver instead of a black.

ahh...we all have what we want and what we dont want anyways...

and i have money saved and ive been with fishes all my life haha.

well...since i was 5.

within a week i'll get the tank.

but is it ok for the ck and the arowana to be together?

you better start saving some more boy

when i was you age i waited till i got my 180 gallon tank before i got my fish.

and you need to do the same, screw a 150 start with a 180 (6x2x2), its gonna need the extra length.

well the 150 gal tank is free, cuase my dads getting it from a co-worker at his work.

and he's picking it up as soon as the owner of the tank gets back from vacation.

and so...i have a ck in a 29 cuase his tankmates wont stop annoying it.

and soon to be getting that aro.

blacks are rare! expensive! and south america is making it harder and harder on the ban on these guys....so it might soon be an illegal fish unless you already own one or have a pemit. You will always run into a silver but a black, not so much.....also silvers get big fast so if you wanna upgrade in the future, you can get a larger tank and that silver aro you always wanted.:D
