Where in FLA are you?

I'll get with Repair on this.

Your going to ship this to him right?

Have a safe trip.

Dr Joe

.

In Orange Park (Northern FL near Jacksonville). He comes home for Christmas so if I can find something I would like to see if he can take it with him once he heads back as they head out for 7 months early spring. If I have to ship it I will need him to get a Post Office box or ship to the home of one of his shipmates prior to their pulling out date) as the Military mail system is slow at best (still waiting on 2 packages I set in early Aug).

Thank yo VERY much

OK here is the solution

Take a 29/30 gal acrylic tank drill the tank on the right side 3" from the bottom and connect the feed side of a canister fitler to it and then on the left side drill 2" from the top and connect the return line.

If you used a xp3 it would work fine because when you disconnect the lines to clean the filter the disconnect lever seals the lines so you won't have a leak.

You would need to make a cover with a rubber gasket for the top of the tank.

The cover would have a bulkhead with a piece of 1.5" PVC pipe 6" long, this is where you would feed the fish. The pipe would have a cap on it to prevent water from splashing out it in high seas.

If you filled the tank 3/4 of the way the water would be able to able to sway without splashing out. The exact level may have to be adjusted but we won't know for sure untill it is built and we test it on a tilt table.

Now all I have to do is find an acrylic tank.

I assume that he can find a stand????????

Ok I just remembered that I have an acrylic tank that would work great for this project.

It is 20" front to back 15" tall and 24" long

Ok, all I understood was the stand part .... he can find a stand (he has a desk or table (or 2) in his office but the rest was like Greek to me!!!
:nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:
Was I supposed to undertand that? I feel like the failing contestant on that new show "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader" (or something similar to that)

I am heading out to Cali this evening to see him while he is in school, his ship will be there on Sat so I will get to see his work space, I have never been on this ship, or one so small (destroyer) so I will scope out his new digs.

I am so new to this fish thing, I have never seen a tank like that, ours are the bloody heavy things. My daughter and I had to move the 75 g on last week and the 29 the week before, I now know why my hubby said "figure out where you want them cause that is where they will be for a while". Luckily the fish all survived the VERY minimal water they had for the move, though our backs did not survive!!!

I want another 55-75 tank but I have the fear of having to move it ... you see, I move things instead of shop, saves money (but not sanity)!!!

For now I just need to believe that our teenager will feed the fish while her brother and I are gone, he is normally the feeder and I am the cleaner (hhhmmm, wonder how that worked out???).

Thank you for all your help
