Traitors! :(

Hey my teachers African tank is what spurred me into fiss keeping in the first place!

I think that since it will be a high stress environment that Africans would be better... CA/SA cichlids will most likely hide a lot due to the high traffic and the kids taunting them

I admit I didn't think about this variable, but having said that a semi-decent sized ca/sa would only hide if you gave it a cave (I only provide caves for fish that need the cover to avoid being a feeder). That also would be short term; im fairly confident if he chose an assertive species it would get used to the traffic.

But if not given a cave they tend to try and hide up by the filter intakes/out-takes or heaters, which is quite unsightly.

True, though would only be temporary unless you get a complete wuss.

You could get something ridiculously aggressive that would just try to kill everyone through the glass.

Well actually I was debating a piranha tank. I would think that would get the most attention out of anything from high school kids. However, I would think that RBPs would HATE living in a high school. Mine were scared when even one person was in the room, I can't see them coming out of hiding when they are in a high traffic area with lots of light and noise. I don't really know the most agressive cichlids I could have. I really want an aro, but that probably won't happen.
