It has quickly become my favorite fish and so aptly named "Snout". Very active, keeps my tank clean and I could watch him for hours. You need one Necro

Yeah i moved his pleco buddies to the pond a few weeks before that pic. That's a side tank shot the tank is 36 in front to back he is about 28 in. When it warms back up he will get his pond back plenty of room for everyone

Sounds nice man. Are you in southern florida? lol, must be nice. I am in mid Montana. Have often contemplated what it would take to do an outdoor tropical pond. I have done a small one before and worked out well.

Mid Florida, gets cold enough that I need to bring most fish indoors for a couple months to avoid any issues but the rest of the year they can be in ponds I have set up outside. I'm renting right now so they are ghetto ponds lol, but once I get a more permanent home ill build something nice. Here is a pic of my 2 hemibagrus nemurus

My folks got a ranch in Arcadia which is central Florida. There have been tropicals living in the creeks there for years. Tons of plecos and hoplos. But we also get some other stuff like clown knives, tilapia, large cichlids and a few big cats. I guess the cold don't phase em none.

I'll get to the others in a min. Just at the claim here I'm gonna have to say please provide some proof. What is the length of the fish? Would be worth pulling him and measuring him on cam to prove what you said. That would def make it by far the largest in captivity that I have ever heard of. Mine was 28" and only weighed about 18 lbs.

Yeah that is a little hard to believe...I'll bet the fish is maybe 25-35 lbs or so, not much bigger. That fish would have to be atleast 55 inches long to weigh anywhere close to eighty pounds.

picking up some christmas gifts and couldn't resist sharing a few of the little guys at the local cabelas the rtc and tsn aren't that big yet but the two flatheads are monsters!!!!! a few full tank shots as well (these are actually two seperate tanks) I don't know the dimensions filtration feeding etc couldn't find a staff member who knew anything cliff I don't know if I've mentioned it before but you can use any of the pictures I post on here

Thanks! That's one of the nicer cabela's tanks I have ever seen. Those flatheads look awesome! Other cats as well. Last one I visited all the fish looked nasty and sick. This one looks like it is well taken care of. Great pics as well

finally got this guy in didn't get a chance for in tank shots yet but here are a few while aclimating first time i've actually kept this species and right away i've noticed that he never stops moving! loves the current too in fact it seems like he enjoys it more than my goonch does right now this guy is about 6-7" (not including the streamer) What is the growth rate of this species with heavy feeding? The other Brachyplastoma species I've kept (filamentosum, jurense,tigrinus) even when tanking the growth rate is very slow (less than an inch a month; my fila only grew from 4"-7" in the four and a half months I had him (tried to eat a thick 6" pbass and suffocated in the night) will take more pictures when I get back from holiday
