HELP MEEEEEEE!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I understand, now what's the best procedure for me to follow to rid myself of this cloudy water?

20% WC every other day till it clears
then back off to 30% WC once a week
Get a Nitrate test kit, it's the only one you should need

+1 that'll fix the base issue.

If you want to polish the water, you'll need a diatom filter, a Magnum with a micron filter, or something similar. Either should polish the water in an hour or two. Of course it will continue to happen until the base issue is fully resolved.

The bloom is likely being caused by ammonia. A nitrate kit won't test for ammonia. You need to test your ammonia levels. And when you are back on track, 50% once a week rather than 30%.

If the bloom is being caused by ammonia you will then need a nitrite kit too. API master test kit. Get one.

Do NOT get a dip stick test kit. Bad idea. They are almost accurate enough to detect ammonia in cat pee. Almost.

LOL, got it, is API the consensus best?
