HELP - Midas has strange red patch

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can use the sulfa with the metro why kill a fish? Is it that far gone. How many tanks do you have?

I can't tell you what to do they are your fish. The decission is yours alone.

I would run the full course of treatment. I should take about a week to ten days. The hex will be killed off the scarring wouln't go away and may appear as an empty pit. Post a new clear close up of the area.

Hi, i have posted pics of the GT in the GT thread

So if the gt is healing and I continue the metro treatments. What do you think this patch is on the Midas? Is it an injury or an infection?

I put the 3 sulphur in like you said, but then do I add more? The packet says after 3 days do a 25% wc then treat again...it's that correct?

Follow the instructions on the package. It's diffacult to say for sure what it is, from just that one picture but the combination of the sulfa and metro should get it. You can use salt in the water too with this combination.

If you notice no improvement after the first course of treatment with the sulfa or the fish is not tolerating this treatment do a 50% water change and discontinue use. However you should continue treating with salt and Metro for the full course of treatment for the hex. Once the metro treatment is complete we can then focus on the midas should that become necessary. Please remember some of these treatments can be hit or miss without knowing exactly what it is we are dealing with. Most bacterial issues are gram negative some are gram positive but not many. Some forms of bacteria are more suseptable to one drug without being effected by another so it may be necessary to try somthing else if one doesn't work. I'm also trying to work within the confines of what is available to you at the moment as I realize meds are not easy for you to come by.

I just found out tonight my mates mum works in the hospital, so getting medication has just got easier.

She is getting me another 60 400mg metro tablets on the weekend...

Is there any other medication I should look to try and get?

The 3 sulphur doesn't seem to be affecting the other fish yet.
