BTB0923;2239158; said:My nitrites are actually very low. My biological filter is well enough established that it takes care of all nitrites and ammonia...it's my nitrate level that is pretty high. If I'm not mistaken the only way to truly lower nitrate levels is water changes, but I'm worried it will stress my fish out to change 75% in just three days. Also, I'll make sure not to siphon my gravel so I don't think I will be removing any of the beneficial bacteria (I think most of it is probably in the filters anyways). I guess my true worry is whether or not my fish is acting that way because of the nitrates in the tank or if its something else like a disease.
! yeah 75% is quite much if your going to go ahead with the WC then I think you should do a 10-25% instead and well actully the beneficial bacteria is everywhere in the tank. Well how long did you say you had the aro?Red tail catking;2239197; said:Oh i'm sorry I got Nitrates and Nitrites mixed up! yeah 75% is quite much if your going to go ahead with the WC then I think you should do a 10-25% instead and well actully the beneficial bacteria is everywhere in the tank.
