You know, if you cant afford to take a dog to the vet when it is sick..

YOU SHOULDNT HAVE A FREAKING DOG

its your responsibility.

And there's your answer CB.

What kind of mange is it? Demodectic?
There is two types of mange one genetic ( which my bulldog has. Stress brings on a bout of it) and there is the contagious one.
If another dog had mange you really should keep your dog away from it.

Take the poor thing to the vet. Do you have a job? Do with out something and get the dog some help before it looks like the dog pictured.

agreed I am well aware how expensive a dog and the vet can be. I adopted a dog that I fell in love with and I take the responsiblity for her vet bills, her heartworm pills, her tick/flee/etc. monthly treatment as she goes outside alot and its expensive. I dont make a lot of money but I make the sacrifices for her when I need to b/c she is important to me. If you own a dog you have to take the responsibilitys for it.

The dog needs to get to a vet and get on the meds to get rid of it, so you really need to take her.

mange can spread to humans from dogs but the good thing is we don't have to be treated. The parasite that causes mange can't finish it's life cycle on a human host only dogs so when it gets to a certain stage of it's life it will die off on humans and then no more itch and flakey skin. Now for dogs you need to take to the vet. There are 2 types of mange one that can be treated and will be gone another that will never go away and take meds for the rest of the dogs life to control. Don't try OTC meds they don't work it's a waste of money.

I agree 100%, OTC meds will not do anything and are basically throwing away money. You NEED to take the dog to the vet, ASAP. As everyone has already said, if you cannot afford to take your dog to the vet when it is sick, you should NOT have a dog at all. I am on a very tight budget, and recently my dog had an unexpected issue that required surgery. It was VERY expensive, and I have had to sacrifice a lot of stuff in my own life to pay for it - but that is the responsibility you take on when you get a dog. If you have to go without to get the dog treatment, then so be it. If you cannot take the responsibilities of having a dog, please find a good home for it with people that are aware of and can afford the responsibilities.

For those of you that are new, and I have seen several replies about vets, convict breeder will ignore your suggestions, but keep asking for OTHER suggestions.

TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET!
