It has been a constant uphill battle with the health of this oscar. I saved him from a per store that took horrible care for him and he has slowly been getting better until now. His stomach is massive. I'm trying to get pics but my ****ing phone won't charge! How should I treat this? Should I quarantine him? Is it contagious? Anything else I should know?

Have you tried Clout yet? It works. You need to get it in your tank quickly though.

Not contagious. It's a swim-bladder issue most of the time. Try de-shelled peas.

Deshelled peas are just normal, green peas. You take the pea, and take off the tiny shell it has (it is the outer green part). The best way to do this is to just boil it.

Will peas actually cure it? I doubt he will eat them though. I'm going to quarantine him so that any meds I use won't affect my other fish. The tank has plecos and a few other medication sensitive fish. I read about using metro? What is the best medication for this? Also a few stickys said to use salt but all I have is table salt sadly, I know it usually warned against but should I use it because this is an emergency? I'll upload pics shortly.

I won't be able to get medication until tomorrow morning.

Raise temps and isolate so he isn't stressed (if possible). Get Clout in the tank as soon as possible. I just bought some today to have on hand and it's driving me nuts I can't hand it to you!

Good luck man!

This is my favorite fish and it's killing be that I might lose him.
Here are some pics. He has always been a bit chubby so when he started getting larger I didn't think much of it. He acted normal and even ate some shrimp and pellets last night. But this morning he was huge and I knew something was wrong.

Also should I add table salt? It's all I have right now along with some stress coat.
