HELP MY OSCAR IS BURNING HERSELF TO DEATH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My oscar is doing better. She's more active, eating well, and appears to be healing well. Added a sponge from another filter that's been used for a few months. Today I did a water change, added some conditioner, and more melafix. She's still not happy about being in there and hides, then peeks out to glare at me when I watch her;)

Glad you added the established filter, even if it is just a sponge, it will clear out the ammonia and nitrite enough to go along with the water changes you should do everyday. can still do the prime too, just in case.

you shouldnt be taking out a heater to a tropical fish tank..and i would blame the turtles..

After I took her out, i put the heater back in. Turtles never bothered it after touching it once. Put a smaller heater in the hospital tank, and it keeps the tank at a steady 79-80. Tried 75, but she isn't as active and doesn't eat as well. Made a little fish retreat in the big tank, so she can sleep soundly and safely after she gets better.
