I would like to get the cheaper one but i dont have any money right now i had to buy this fancy calculator for math so im pretty much broke :( i really would like to get those halfmoons

Then start with a petstore female. Really, it's all up to you and what you'd like to accomplish. If all you want to do is breed once and be able to say "yup, I did that...now onto the next thing", then a petstore betta may be fine. If you're considering getting serious with it, then save up for a great pair that could be the founders for your own line.

do you know if you could trade fish for the pairs of bettas? i have a few green sunfish,3 lmb,5 longnose gars, and 3 channel catfish that i could trade.

You can also get female bettas off livaquaria
www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfmc=830+832+1014&pcatid=1014

Sorry if that link doesn't work. Just go to liveaquaria.com then go to freshwater fish then go to bettas and you'll see the female bettas. They are like $2.50, the normal males are like $3.50.

i didnt buy a betta at wal-mart i rescued him he was in only half an inch of water and he was literly sideways and dieing with half of him out of the water so he lived and was really weak for the first week but regular feeding helped him live.now hes healthy and rearin to breed

There aren't very many pairs on Aquabid at the moment. But, I'll post up a few males that I really like.
Thanks so much! Some of those fish are really beautiful. I think I'm going to buy a moderately priced pair and give it a try.
