Help on breeding betta's

and some of the teachers would love to have some bettas and my friends would love to have some uz most of my friends like to have fish and then also i would feed the culls to my oscar and my channelcatfish and greensunfish and i would only keep like 20-30 of the best looking ones so...ya i think ur over reacting about this whole thing...
Ok, first things first, following up on my first post (which doesn't seem to have arrived). You CAN do it in a 5gal tank. But it is certainly more difficult and challenging. Males and females can tear eachother up until they die (my one female did that to my prize male the last time I bred them, and I had them in 10gals. Second of all, MN_Rebel, I would like to address that it was very rude of you to comment on the maturity of gar man, I am in High school myself and I have sucessfully kept 10 tanks, and have bred bettas successfully. Maturity comes not with age or with education, but experience. I am sorry if I am out of place, but I have seen this kind of nastiness on other forums and if this is what must be expected then I wonder at my decision to join.
Now, Gar man, it is difficult to house possibly 200 plus bettas. And even if you donated them remember that not everyone will get one right away. The best idea I can think of is set up a website and establish a steady breeding/selling program. It will take you several tries to get it right, probably, but once you get going it will even out. Remember that you can make money off of them, and you want to be able to provide for your bettas when you move out.

right now i have a diy filter and a small undergravel filter and there is barely any water movement and the gravel is the small kind and it pcked together very tightly so would this work? o and im going to breed a crowntail male with a female crowntail if i can find one and if not then a female veiltail

Why betta? why not other fish? Your mom said no more tanks so you dont have any room for your swordtails and betta fry to grow out. I noticed you already got an oscar after we told you do not get the oscar but i guess you dont listen to us. You dont even have any room for your sunnies, oscar and catfish when they are getting bigger, so im not overreacting? And keeping ignore our advice most of time. Man you need to stop make any plan on breeding thing and focus on your fish right now and listen to your mom this time about not get more fish and tanks. Thats why when you move out of your parents then you can have many tanks you want.
And this is pointless to argue with 14 year kid who dont even have a female betta and extra tanks right now. Lets close the thread.
for crying out loud rebel how many times u gunna say that? the catfish and greensunfish are going into hte pond in a next few monthsand are in a 20 gallon long grow out the oscar is in a 30 gallon growout (my dad has a good deal on a 75 gallon aquarium) and also do u enjoy bullieing a 14 year old? all i did was asking a question on if i can breed bettas in a 5.5 and i got the ok so im going to attempt it so if all ur gunna do is critisize me lease just dont post on my threads ive tried to be nice and befriend u but u always just brush it off and flame me

Gar man, grow up, you are not little kid but you sure act like it. Do not getting any new fish because basically you dont have any room for breeding project right now. And your plans on move the fish to the pond isnt even start yet. Guess what? your are so stubborn that your ignored your own mom, she make rules in the household and you are gonna respect her, that means no more tank/fish.
