forgive me for the prob stupid question but i am still unfamiliar with a lot of fish species. but is a datnoid a cichlid?Deep Blue Sea;3979852;3979852 said:a 125 isnt sufficient for an arowana =/ or atleast thats what I hear, a fish that is fun to watch, looks cool, and eats feeders would be a datnoid and that could be kept in a 55 until you got a 125 or you could go with a bichir for your 55 such as a senegalus

An Oscar can get over 15"chuckblankenship;3979834; said:oscars will get about 10" right? and what about the texas?
I do plan on quarantining my feeders in my 1o gallon tank before i use them. and for the sedond question about what do i want? well i think either a couple of agressive fish or just one fish that is too aggressive to have others in the tank. a (glassbanger) as you put itFIN01;3979875;3979875 said:The arowana when very small will last very little time in the 55 and will need a bigger tank than the 125 later on, too. Oscars get bigger than 10" typically and same with a texas. All of the cichlids suggested will be good in a 125 and can live in a 55 for a little while. Another question is, do you want a number of these fish, a pair or a solo glassbanger? Do the fish need to be something that is more common to find or are you looking to order? Also, I would discourage feeding feeder fish unless you breed them or have a quarentine tank for store bought ones.
