HELP! Oscar Dying

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For anyone who cares the Oscar seems to be making a full recovery. It's crazy how something as little as water changes adding some salt and bumping the temp could seriously bring a fish basically back from the dead. I DO wish i knew what was the cause of this to prevent further situations but I might have to just call it bad luck because I am completely stumped. But he is swimming and doing MUCH better!

A ten inch oscar, 2 pacu, a pufferfish, and an rtc in a 55gal tank that is undermaintaned, overfed, and food such as dead crickets are rotting in the tank and your saying you only have 10ppm nitrates and you only have a sponge filter and an emperor 400 as filtration?

Talk about overstocked and my god somebody call the animal abuse hotline.

Mrbigglesworth, please worry about your own issues before jumping all over someone else's... He said the fish will be moved soon, and he is trying to help them.

Yeah seeing as the Pacus are small I do two water changes a week and theres an AC110 on it and 2 canister filters with 2 sponge filters. My water is perfect. please don't jump down my throat before knowing the situation at all. The RTC is only about 6 inches now. Like i said my water is completely fine.

thank you! the Pacus were bought on impulse having NO IDEA what I was getting myself into and I've been trying to find them a good home for a while now but as EVERYONE knows they are impossible to house.... as for the RTC... bought as a grow out for my cousins pond... to small to put it in there at 6 inches. The oscar is fine in the tank he is in and will be moved to my 155 once it is fully cycled and ready to be used!
