sounds like you're doing more harm than good. The less "stuff" in the water(besides salt) the better
 
This kid, if he really is a youngster, and not some demented troll has ignored pretty much every piece of advice offered to him since joining MFK. To make matters even worse, he's been giving "advice" in other threads during this entire time, as though he actually has a clue what he's talking about.

Kid, troll, speaking for myself, at this point it's all been blurred into one & the same.
 
Take the catfish out of his tank. If he has been alone for a while and you just threw a catfish in there which certain catfish can be pretty annoying to some skiddish cichlids and cause them more stress. You need to do what everyone tells you and leave him alone. If he freaks out over everything turn his lights off or even better put a blanket over his tank so he feels a lil safer. I did this with my old jack dempsey when he was always bashing into things. That is a great looking cichlid you have there and your probly angering a few people on here by treating it the way you and a few of us would love to have a fish like him....

he should live he looks okay it is hard to belive that he did not die when he bashed in to everything super fast but he stopped doing that the catfish is in his own 40 gallon tank i moved the catfish from the pearseis tank a long time ago
