Details on the tank... Size, filtration...

It honestly looks like acid burns which means that your RTC has prob puked in the tank and fowled the water ... If the tank isn't large enough then the stomach acid will basically eat the fish alive....Water changes... small and Often...25% every couple of hours... change the water to fast and you'll throw him into shock and the stress will kill him... after you have changed the water 4-6 times medicate (LOW DOSAGES... normally a cat is 1/2 dose but I would be looking at 1/4 dosing)

Looks like what my rtc got before. Mine was in pretty bad shape too, so don't get to nervous, mine came back very quick with the right treatment.

I put him in his own tank to start off. I went to Petsmart got got the Mardel for ammonia burns I think it was, or body fungus, Just open the box, pretty sure the packets were blue that have API and in the middle of it say tetracycline. I did a 40%water change everyday and the water I took out I made sure that much meds was put back in. You do have to half dose it. Don't forget to remove any carbon in the filters because if you don't, it will just take the meds right out of the water. That did the trick with mine, and it looked just like yours does, just not as extreme.

Good luck. I'm sure he will pull through.

Looks like the amonia became severely toxic due to Ph crash simultaneously......

The tank is 125 and filter is a canister thats rated at about 100gal and there is extra power heads I did water changes every 5 days Would he eat what he puked up again so I may have missed it

if it was puke then he would most likly have to have overeaten
im not really good on stuff like this, ive never had this man
i really hope it pulls through for you though

Well they will puke up small bits that are left in their bellies That filter is No where near big enough for a RTC... you would need at the very least double to thriple the rated size for the tank as they are waste machines...

Chances are that the filter could have sucked up any evidance of the puke... there could have been some still floating around but it usually doesn't last long not in my tanks anyway (WAY Over Filtered)
