FinHunter101, Sorry, I didn't mean to rub anything in. I, for one, just am interested how things will turn out for the remaining 4 kittens and for your project (short-term, long-term, whatever - it is your thread after all).
First of all, what's happening with your tank is still at the hypothesis level IMHO. I do not see a 100% smoking gun, so to speak. It is a strong possibility but I'd do more water tests. What you'd do - I don't know. I am not sold that your water killed your two little ones, but more tests may be needed to try and save the others if you plan to still have them in the same tank.
If this is indeed under-cycling, I've made similar errors plenty of times before. It's how you deal with it that can help others, even the ones who have been through it many times. Or, having saved the other fish, you can come back with regular updates and pics on their development, size, care, etc. These are the kinds of things I meant.
