help save my Endli (SBD)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's vomit. Most likely tilapia. Polys will do that on their own if something is not right. You may see the endli arch it's back. Similar to a V shape to try to force the undigested food out.

If it's no longer floating upside down. I see it as a plus. I'd stay away from feeding entirely during this process. Once healed, there needs to be a good dietary plan and future tankmate decisions. If it is the only fish that eats cut up tilapia. Than you'll be fine. Cuz this buoyancy issue will happen again.

Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 yes copy no feeding during the treatment process and sure i will put that in mind the good dietary plan thank you so much! I feel relieved at this point will post an update tom.

Good luck with your endli, sounds like you're on the right track.

Hey all - Is this one of the things that feeding catfish once a week will help? Or is that only for constipation?

The oily catfish should help with preventing constipation. Hard to tell with SB, but likely will help. Don't take much to plug them up.

Yes as beblondie mentioned that the oil of a catfish helps flash out what ever object or air blocking the digestive system, feeding a catfish once a week will be good, but do it when you are ready to do water change the next day.

OK, so that is my eventual advice OP, when you start feeding up again. Catfish is cheap and my fish love it. You can feed once per week to help with this and yes, like PA mentioned, do it before WC because it is kind of oily. I also rinse mine a few times before adding to the tank. Also, cut them up small for your piggie endlii. :)

An alternative to cstfish would be epsom soaked pellets. In addition to helping with blockages the epsom salt kills Internal parasites.
