Florfecicol is also supposed to work. A combo of Maracyn and Maracyn 2 can also work. Heat ans salt treatment is not effective.
If it was a swelling that ruptured but did not release any pus it coulsd be fish TB, Warning, this can be caught by People. It can be sometimes be treated by a regimin of vitamin B-6 and kentamycin for 30 days.
One other possibility is aeremonas vibrio, This can sometimes be treated by swabbing the wound several times a day with hydrogen peroxide, remove from tank first.
