Females can also pocess this colouration. You'll find it's all about water quality.

Mine kinda had the same markings when he was about 4" with the lined up pattern on the body but his slowly moved apart. Yours is very prominant so I think it may stay a little more noticeable than mine. Also Your guys body structure looked exactly as mine too. The way he gets his markings is just genetics. Is yours wild Caught or is it F1? Where did you get him? he looks more northern species of managuense like Guatemalan or Honduran.

Oh and I don't know about the best because I have to contend with Rallysman old jag, Ron Morse, Aquamojo, Greenterra etc etc.
i got my manny from the lfs so i dont really know if its wild caught or if its f1 or anything, but all the mannys that was in the tank had the same kinda markings, i found it real intresting and different so thats why i bought him. Im not intrested in selling him right now though i want to see how he turns out but if i do you'll have first dibs.
