im going to buy a male dovii to pair to my female looking dovii, the lateral line fades sometimes and theres a big spot on side that's not fading when lateral line fades.

is this really a female?

That's the palest Dovii ever . If only there was such a contest. Why do you think it's so pale?

i dont really know, sorry, i thought its normal because when i tried to google image of juvenile dovii, the top images looks the same as the picture.

can you help me, why is he/she pale?

Ok..

Your water might be too high with the ph. Check that. Add drift wood to do that. A balance of wood and sand/gravels..

Then fix : lack of light in the front, change the white sand to natural colors, and maybe change the Plain white background.

That's a male btw...

Just do as I showed you and you'll see

Looks too young to sex. And im thinking the pale is just juvi colors.

I see no spotting above the lateral line or in the fins to assume male from that pic. How large is the fish? Usually at 3-4" you can sex them. Just going by that pic alone I'd say female. And it's pale because it's a juvenile on white sand and flash was used would be my guess...
