  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Time to increase the water change frequency as was stated before. Hopefully the appetite returns with better water parameters as well.

want to keep that at below 20ppm. at 23 ppm internal organ dmg starts to occur. I would do a fin level water change, then another to get that down to 5 ppm. what do you use for water conditioner? seachem prime/safe being the preferred.

Clean the filters and vacuum the substrate, changing the water is only half the battle when getting the nitrates down.

if your RO system is working good, then no worries on the prime, Me? I would be using it anyways, I Love redundancies in my favor. beter to much filtration than not enough,

anyways do the water changes, you have the nitrate test down, let that guyed your water changes, any hint of red change the water, it will either be nice bright orange with no red, not even a hint, or water change time.

and plus 10 on that, dirty filters are a nitrate bomb looking to happen. reduce bio filtration to bypass flow and clogged media pores.

what the water can not flow through will rot. releasing all kinds of crap.

more than welcome hurt. do the nitrate tests every other day till you know what nitrate creep is, easy on the high protein food. protien=ammonia=nitrite=nitrate. Jags need a good pellet as all your fish with a protein amount of 36 to 45. nothing wrong with a protein treat, I do this the day before water change with super freeze dried krill soaked over night in boyds vita-chem,

good luck and keep us posted! love to see how the little guy does, and now vid of my jagywaggies.
