yueah i guess idk when i first got him he wasnt eating anything and then i got him on gold fish like a fool. from that he only went to shrimp and didnt eat anything els. i only got him to eat worms when i tricked him. so idk i have tride every pellet and he wont even go for it.

Mine were like that too. I did a whole lot of research before getting them.

But I was worried that I would be starving them at first because I didn't want to keep buying/breed feeders. Plus, my vendor told me

that's all they would take.

I Got them guppies first, then gave them tiny pieces of shrimp. Then when things turned south and I noticed the shrimps were a bad idea,

I starved them for about a week and gave them that one type of pellet every other day until it took em.... I stuck with one type of pellet

so that it would not turn them off from all pellets, or prevent them from having a choice at all. Either way, it's a catfish, when it's hungry

enough, it'll eat it :)

To tell the truth I lost about 4 small tigs and I couldn't work out what I was doing wrong

I would grow them from 4 inch to 7-8 inch with no problems then they started doing the spinning thing

So I tryed a few different things and I have not lost one since and grown 2 to 24 inch one I sold and the one I have now for about 5 years

The things I changed were

Temp 86 it was 82
No salt foods prawn shrimp mussel silver side one they get to 12 inch feed them anything below 12 inch just hikari sinking carnivore
Lots and lots of aeration via a power head or internal filter with defuser
Use polyfilter in my internal filter don't mistake polyfilter as normal poly wool it's a expencive filter pad that works like a FW protein skimmer and removes all the heavy organics from the water it's not cheap have a look on eBay for polyfilter this stuff is worth the money for sure

I'm not sure which of the above gave me luck with tigs so I have not changed anything

As for feeding now I just feed the whole tank with pellets prawn and meal worm the tig has to work hard to get any food but he grabs a bit of everything when he can

I hope your tig puts around and I know how stressful it is to look at when they are spinning

Interesting about the poly filter as they lock up heavy metals and I imagine that they could create the spinny thing. Did you have the tigs before the ham as the hma removes the heavy metals?

Heavy metals could be the answer.

7 inch tig in a 20g with not much current ?
Recipe for disaster .... should in a a bare minimum of 75g with massive current.

Why did you treat the fish with Metro in the first place ? What dosage did you use?
Metro is a last resort drug only ....it can cause more issues then it helps in catfish.

You state the water is fine? That doesn't mean much to me ....what is fine ?
What are the actual test results ?
PH, GH, KH, Ammonia , Nitrite, Nitrate, Temp
You don't have the test results? Test the water and find out ...

What filtration ?

Without detailed information I can't help you.

No hma filter when I lost all the tigs just water changes with seachem prime

If you have not tryed polyfilter give it a go as everyone I have told to use it won't stop using it now

It gives the water a highly polished look and after 3-4 weeks when it's near dead you can see the water not looking as great

still upside down but temp is 8.4 airation like crazy and just been keeping an eye on him

still alive today. sry yesterday was a mistake the temp is 84. he is still upside down and alive gills are not red....

Glad to hear he is still hanging in there. :)
