Aaaahhh mos90!! You already ordered the rays?! Between the Ick & the cycling, that tank is soooo not ready for them. I agree, man. Start over.

Good luck. Hope you don't get an ammonia spike and wipe out your whole tank.

I'm an optimistic person, but you should always be prepared for the worst case scenario. Especially since you do not have a backup plan.

Fish in an uncycled tank is almost always met with new tank syndrome, aka ammonia spike. Not to mention the huge bioload rays exert on an unestablished tank - almost guaranteed ammonia spike.

Best of luck to you, and I do mean the best of luck.

so many people do the add mulm add fish method it has to work to some point. ive added so much old filter media im surprised it needs to cycle at all. but worse case scenario i could add them to my 125 tank if i get an uncontrolable spike. they are small enough to stay in there until the 300 finishing cycling. but thats a last resort.

Just up the water changes and slightly reduce the amount of food. Maybe once a day WC @ 25% to keep things under control.

saw slight signs of ammo this morn. did 30% water change. tried to feed rays krill last night, thats what he was feeding them mostly, but they didnt eat. ill try again tonight.

the ph seemed to drop last night from 7.0 to 6.8 for some reason. might need to check kh tonight. my tap water usually is around 3.
