Help with chlorine poisoning

Did a really stupid thing , last night was tired from
Work and decided to top up water in my tanks. Turned om the tap and totally forgot

Loat a bd in the process, i dosed with seachem safe , so far my other bds are alive and arowana. But infeepnthey have been injured by the chlorine. Anything else incam do besides increasimg aeration?

For some reason your last post I missed. Sorry for your loss.
You probably lost most of the bio bacteria so I suggest adding some media from another aquarium if possible.

thanks yup I'll skip feeding for a few days.
my thread got posted before i completed typing.
i added Seachem safe. will try to closely monitor. hope they are able to recover.

my arowana seems to be hard hit by the chlorine
any way to help recover besides adding more aeration?

Aerate with (nearly) pure oxygen from a tank of liquid oxygen or an oxygen concentrator.

From Noga's book:

Fish exposed to acute chlorine poisoning appear to have improved survival if the water is supersaturated with oxygen for several days. Lowering the temperature may also help (G. Lewbart, personal communication).

Excess dechlorinator will decrease oxygen so don't add too much.

Cooler water can hold more oxygen, which can be critical because chlorine damages the inner gills
