Help with damaged flowerhorn please!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Melafix will aid in healing faster for the open wounds. I also would add Primax to prevent secondary infection.

Ok thanks guys!
1tsp/1gal, Do I add that in everyday? WC when?

sorry so many questions!

swarsh
Add the 1tsp per gal... This will give you 1%. If you do a water change of say 20 gallons then you would need to add 20 tsp of salt back into the tank to maintain the 1%. Only add more salt when doing a w/c.

Started the treatment for him today, he seems much more settled and "happy" now.
Swimming around well!
Hopefully his wound will heal up soon !

Oh btw here is a picture of him/her when it was healthy!

thanks again,
Swarsh

Guys !!!
Just checked FH and found some sort of fluffy white thing on his top wound!!
Is this fungus infection/bacteria?

Thanks again, sorry for so many questions.

Its lookin infected. Add some Pimafix if you can get some. Are you keeping up with the salt? The bump under the injury makes me nervous. Not so much the white stuff.

Oh damn,
I'm using Myxazin at the moment as the previous owner told me to finish the dose with Myxazin.
Is it safe to use salt and primafix along with it?
The white fluffy stuff is now covering the whole wound...

Its a male ZZ, but thats not important. Your fh looks like it has ducklips and that is fungal/bacteria growth on the wound.. The chances of your fh living are very very slim..

damnit...
I'll try and do what I can, going to add salt tomorrow.
Hopefully it will help and he will pull through...

thanks all for the info and help,

Swarsh
