Hey guys, I have a 10 gallon aquarium with one 2 inch long largemouth bass i know this tank is not big enough to keep for life or even for 6 months ... I just had a few questions... I have an air pump with a 6 inch air stone... is this too many bubbles to have for only one fish in a 10 gallon? if so what is the right size of air stone for this size aquarium.. should I even have bubbles at all for this type of fish...?

What type of filtration are you using? really in a ten anything that slightly moves the surface is sufficient and there is no need for additional aeration. If you are not using any filtration system and preferring to just rely on very regular water changes (50% per week without fail) then what you have is fine just stuff it off to a corner horizontally or regulate it as Teleost has stated.

if you arent that experienced just let the fish go. you will need such a large tank in the future its probably not even worth keeping.

Largemouths are no more difficult to keep than many of the fish you'll see on the forum. If you're willing to make the commitment to a large tank, then go for it.

the filter i have is tetra internal whisper power filter for 2-10 gallon aquarium.

the air pump i use for the six inch air stone is too powerful is that why you are saying to use a gang valve? the air pump is a elite801 it says up 15 gallons

Yes... The hose water is the same as the sinks in your house. Unless you have a well all water should be treated. Even if it is a well, it should be tested for pathogens and nutrients that may harm fish.

what do you recommend is the best dechlorinator and also does the filter i have give off enough aeration or do i need to use the air pump or am i good with out it

I'm not familiar with that particular filter but it's probably enough and will likely not need an airstone provided your temperatures are reasonable (75ish)

Just about all of the dechlorinators are good but I personally don't like the ammonia reducing properties of some of them. Read carefully and buy one that says removes chlorine and chloramine.

you don't need an airstone i have a 3" lmb and he is fine, i don't dechloinate my water and my fish do just fine

You have well water? That would be why you wouldn't need to. I wouldn't recommend people not to as a lot of people have municipal water which requires dechlorination.

^^^What he said. I have excellent water (Lake Michigan) which is top ranked for quality in the nation. It will kill my fish (as I have done) without dechlorinator.
