The ehfisubstrat I used Had already been rinsed and seeded. I'm sure that there is dust though, just have to rinse very thuroughly.
Something to think about. With your biomedia you can only rinse of with tank water, in order to keep the bacteria alive. Without any type of mechanical prefilter your biomedia will become gunked up and reduce it's effectiveness.
