put the feeder fish in..

I tried that... unfortunately I also have a 14" poly endi & a 12" Clown Knife so I can't be sure if the Payara is eating if the lights are closed.:confused::confused:

do you have a spare tank? if so, move the Payara to that tank and repeat steps given by Fiehes33.

I don't have a spare tank. But I a possible spin on that idea would be a screen divider. I will try that and report!

Thanks GUYS!!!! Oh yah I heard that Payaras have to be kept in very clean water with constant water movement. Any truth in this and what any other tip on how to care for a Payara?:confused::confused:

you bought a fish without reading up on it?

get a pic so we can ID it.
if its a scomb, you better have ALOT of oxygen going into the water.
its just getting used to the tank.
ive had many scombs and redtails eat little to nothing for weeks just getting used to the tank.
feed it feeders for the time being.

First I separate it from the rest of the group, once it got to use to the surrounding , then Id mix it with the other fish

As for water movement, my redtail didnt get a lot of water movement and he is doing fine.

;)

Thats pic looks like my payara. but thinner. I will try and take a pic of it.

How small was the enclosed area? & will a 5" poly retropinnis be safe with a 5" Payara?:confused::confused:
