Justin how do you tell leucos and maps apart? I should have it written down last time....oh well

Sorry I missed your post Armand! :( The best method is collection info. Visually, in maps, there is very little, to absent all together row of iridecent spangling under the dorsal fin and no spotting on the flanks. leuco's always have this line under the dorsal no matter what level of spangling on the flanks. Also, maps have broader snout, small to medium tightly packed spots on the muzzle. From my research the color of the spotting on maps is consistently more green and blue that just blue alone.

Your keeping s. mapiritensis? Please, please, please start a thread on them? We have to discuss breeding and share notes! :D

That is what I thought too, at the best angle for them to show they are questionable at best. The extra pics really did help.

Yeah I have 3. Was hoping it was a trio but not leaning towards 2 males and 1 female which isn't a good combo. Lately the smaller male has been challenging the larger male and even dominating him so I may need to move 1 of the Maps into another tank sometime down the road.

Thanks Justin!!! One of these days Id love to see both in one tank that way I can see the differences.
