my little oscar got beat up tonight! he is about 3 inches and my 5 inch O beat the crap out of him. he is now by himself in a 29g. he is pretty torn up on one side and he isnt swimming around much. what should i do? what are the chances hel make it?:(

i just tryed to feed him a earthworm, but he just looked at it. does anyone have any suggestions? i really liked the little guy, but im not sure if hes gonna make it

Right now he doesn't need to eat. He just needs to have as little stress as possible. Keep the lights off and turn the temp to about 82F. A little aquarium salt at a tbs per 5 gallons will probably help him out too. It worked for my beat up Festae.

nice info balton do exactly as he said and your O should be fine, leave him in the 29 and power feed him for a month or 2 and cut back on how much youre feeding the other one and it will catch up in size in no time.

edit. when you do reintroduce him rearrange all your decor so as to not be introducing him into a tank that a fish has already claimed his territory.

thanks, he is already doing better. he is swimming around the 29 fine now, but he is really scratched up. do you think the scratches will heal and go back to his normal color pattern?

in all likelihood they'll heal

I found my oscars always heal fast. Do you know why they started to fight? what size tank is it? what fish do you have in it?
