yea, that thin.... it didnt JUST happen one day... there might be a parasite, but if all he is eating is ghost shrimp better do what FBF said and throw in 50-100!!

thanks guys, I never noticed him that thin before it was crazy i have pics of like last week, and he is perfect.....and all this week he just looks like this, its insane
he still hasnt eaten....tomorrow im goign to the pet store and buying as many ghost shrimp as I can get....and just putting them all in there, im going to find nightcrawlers tomorrow as well. I read that they liked regular shrimp, and scallops, i dont think hes eaten a bit....ive bought so many different things but all he wants is ghost shrimp. Should I maybe buy some feeder fish also just incase? I dont use feeders for anything not even my arros
NO on the feeders, they carry lice and other parasites.... if that is the picture from last week... the motoro is still very thin
yeh those were from last week....i dont know, I guess im just going towait until I get to the pet store tomorrow and just drop like 4 dozen ghost shrimp in there....I guess thats all he will eat....I even have a 20g tank under my regular tank just to hold them....I usually buy 4 dozen a week. How will I get him to start eating other foods???
Yes he was still very thin even in those other pictures but nothing like the first pictures you showed us of him. Will he eat black worms? Does your LFS carry them? It's a rare ray that won't eat them, and they would have a heck of alot more nutrition than ghost shrimp. He is expending almost as much energy catching and eating them as what is in them to begin with. How big disk size is this little guy anyway? I have heard that garlic can sometimes make a ray eat better but I have never used or and I am not sure how you go about it but somebody else on here may have more info on that. Also still think it may not be a bad idea to treat him with Prazi Pro.
When I get to the fish store tomorrow im going ot look for some prozi . Hopefully they have worms and probably going to pick up more black worms. Its just crazy he wont touch anything unless its alive....even being so hungy i just assumed he would eat just about anything.
Black worms are alive.....I call them crack for ray's. I still have my pup seperated from the parents not because I am afraid of them hurting her but she eats black worms still as she is so tiny and I know the parents would pounce on her if I tried to feed them to her with them there.
why would the parents not let it eat black worms? SO then black worms are only good for baby rays? I guess mine is still a pup, but right now im trying to get him to eat everything and anything he will
