Hey guys,

I promised I would make a growout thread once I get my Odoes to eat dead food, and it happened yesterday!

I got three on February 22nd, and could not have them eat for the life of me. I then got 2 more, figuring they could be insecure in a new environment and knowing 3 could cause issues in the long run.

They'd eaten small shrimps (I had no idea those were available at my LFS, or that they existed at all!), but always live food... In fact, they ate a few of the Clown Loaches I had gotten at a smaller size than expected, and in hindsight, I should have put them with my 2 Orinos in the growout... Oh well, one only learns by mistakes I guess :(

Yesterday, as I was going to try an experiment, of leaving a piece of fish filet in the tank, hanging by a thread, I tried target feeding the Ery Ery, and the second the lil piece of fish hit water, the Odoes pounced it and ate, and I spent the best of the next hour throwing little pieces of fish to watch them eat. :D

I know, none of you wants to read... "What do we want?" "Pictures?!" "When do we want them?" "NOWWWW!" So here you are. :)

They look good, glad they finally ate for you, you'll have a stunning group in no time

They're real pigs now that they started eating, at this rate my Orinos might never catch up, which would be a shame. :(

Nice pics.
Thank you :)

They've already doubled in girth, after eating twice in a row, I'm pretty happy with his active they turned out to be. They dart around the tank whenever something moves, don't bother tank mates, and aren't as skittish as people described them to be. :)

They are pretty cool.

Awesome fish.
Have you tried switching to pellets, yet?

I do from time to time, pellets are too big IMO.
They dart to it, see what it is, and dart right back away, only accepting fish filet.

Which is fine, I love seeing their full little bellies :D

Having them off live was already an awesome news, so i'm not going to be too picky, pellets will come when pellets come. ;)
