Time for an update.
So the other day I was lying in bed wondering what my next move will be, tempted to give up.
I looked on here and saw a nice little pm from a fellow member, who shared their experience that seems to be almost identical to what was happening here with this little girl. He shared how locals helped him with new tips and tricks and some worked. He treated the rays he had with An antibiotic that wasn’t necessarily the exact one that I was “supposed to get from the vet “. This gave me a few ideas and one of them was that I remembered I had picked up some neoplex (seachem version of neomycin). After hearing that the antibiotic was a solution, I was eager to try it.
As I was measuring out how much I needed to treat the whole 180 gal tank I quickly realized I only had enough for roughly 80 gal. I figured if I only had one shot at this i need to make it count. So I pondered how I would do it as wisely as possible. I figured I would sleep on it and hopefully come up with something in the morning.
So just as I ran out of my last ghost shrimp, and she wasn’t eating anything frozen I was quite discouraged. Then found out the earliest I could get more was tomorrow and she only ate 2 gs all day yesterday, I thought it was game over by end of today. So as a last ditch effort, I decided I have nothing to lose if I drop a few gals worth of neoplex into her box and hope for the best. I even went against my better judgement and left her a live redworm for good measure.
This morning I woke up and checked on her, and to my surprise the worm was gone. So I had to test out what happened. Grabbed a few more and she ate them all right away. And now today she has eaten close to 10 worms which is more food mass than she has had , I think since I have had her with me. She still won’t eat frozen shrimp, but I am ok with baby steps in a good direction.
