here we go... 500g build start

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the PT was all they had for 4x4 and he said it would be fine. i make sure my daughter doesnt mess around with my tanks. thanks for the advice though. my tough decision now is wether to try to make a wet dry or just fill the bottom with pond matrix. i know with the matrix flow wont be a problem, but i think it may be tough doing a 5000gph drip system

ok been working on the stand, its going good (i think) have top and bottom done and all uprights cut, just need someone to help me and hold it up. i will get pics tomm. should be getting tank sunday

anyone watching or no? well here are more pics anyways. i got the stand almost done, picked up the tank, and started mapping the plumbing. i still need to finish plumbing and well fill'er'up! tell me what you think of the stand, im no carpenter and havent worked with wood since middleschool building dirtbike ramps, but i think theres enough lumber to make up for it. (22 8' 4x4) lol
and the stand is super tall to clear my sump with the braces in, but i actually really like it with a tank atop

The stand looks good I think as long as you have supports under the top of the stand, But Im not a carpenter just my 2 cents. Also what size sump is that, and Im not really sure but I thins if you sectioned off half of it and did a wet dry though a very large spray bar that had bunch of drip holes and large pvc it would spread out the spray and slow it down enough over the bio to get it growing good, the bio grow the most efficient when there is a lot of oxygen, there for wet drys are way more efficient than lets way a canister filled with bio. Also if you have a high gph flowing fast enough through the sump it make it very hard to grow Beneficial bacteria at all. Im wanting to say that it grow the best around 1000gph and under. Sry if you lost me I had trouble trying to put what I was thinking into words.

no i get it, i decided against a wet dry. im gonna go just filling it up with pond matrix and probably bamboo and pothos in the 100g sump. i will be picking ceramic when i have spare cash and see if i can fill it up. i also have a 1000gph wet dry just kickin around i might try to hook up, but i wouldnt know how to go about getting it set up on this beast

what do you mean getting it set up? It is just like setting up a sump
