Wow just caught up with the thread. Tank looks great learned a lot about acrylic tanks and leaking bulkheads. Thanks for sharing the experience maybe when I get a monster tank if it is acrylic I will remember to test before I set up. As with your filter I am a big fan of K1's and the disks. K3's are just a larger version of a K1. If you decide to go with them you only need a 4 to 1 ratio meaning 1 ratio of the disk shape to 4 of the K1. and add plenty of air. ya i tried airline tubes, definately not enough though they quiet it slightly, i think i need something wider i gotta run to lowes and see what i can find
Haven't done too much more, I'm still looking for a monster piece of driftwood and more big fish. I got a pair of 10" bala sharks and will prob pick up the third today. I decided to unplug my shop light, since the LEDs add a cool look and are ok for now and don't grow tons of algea like the shop light was. I want to add more media to my sump and i also want to add a ton of bamboo soon.
I am not going to be you friend if I don't see some pics of those monster Bala's. Where did you get them, my Bala's where a lot happier when I went from 2 to 4, but the two that where there where used to being in a group of 5 when they where young.
Some guy bought it like 4 years ago and set it up but never filled it since it was in a 2nd floor apartment. I got it cheap.
