So your saying doing something else and keep my eyes away from water change for 3-5mins is not a responsible fish keeper? I just lost nearly 10k worth of fish and you think I wouldnt care about my fish?

I think he's implying that if you are that invested (serious keeper) then you have to take every precaution to keep your fish safe. Since it's not the water plants responsibility to keep water fish safe 100% of the time, its our job to make sure it is when we use it.

Everyone just take it easy the monetary loss on these fish is huge..losing free fish to a 10 stacks worth of fish is way different.

Things happen and I one time lost about 3-4 grand of fish but was my fault didn't double check temps but all made it even with a 20 degree swing lol

Sorry for your lose. I would have never even thought about it when the city announces flushing......so next time when they flush the city pipes i will have to turn off my drip system for the week. If it were not for you informing me, i would have never even thought of it and im sure the same would have happened to my tank. Thanks for the heads up.

How are you guys able to pump water straight into the tank? I thought city water people had to let the water sit out for a while before being added?

nah, we pump straight from tap then just add Prime to entire tank. Also I walk away while pumping back water all the time too.

Wow I had no idea you could do that. I always skipped anything in my books about using city water because I have never had it. That is cool though, makes me feel better about one day moving.
