Here's my 6" female Red Texas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Either way she's a gorgeous fish, and I'm thinking of selling her locally but I'm not sure as of now. I may keep her, and pair her up with one of other Red Texas cichlids once they reach maturity. As of right now my other Red Texas cichlids are between 2"-3" so it'll be a while before they're big enough to actually survive in her tank lol.

When I, the master, speak. Yall need to listen. :)

It is not a fH.

wow, caps lock much?

and to the OP, nice red texas!

Very good looking fish you have sir. I'm not going to join the debate of what made it but I would like to take the time to get a better understanding. Ok... To my understanding a red texas can be made with a TEXAS crossed with a bp, midas, red devil(not commomnly used though), red mammon, and I guess certain strains of flowerhorns. So if one is to use a flowerhorn to create a faded texas look, what's the difference between it and a fader flowerhorn? I ask because when texas are juvies, they do not have the flower spot near the head. This one doesn't seem to have the flower spot near the head so why are some calling it a fader flowerhorn?

That's a good ?????? Bc a lot of faded flowerhorns and Texas look a like when they are older ...I did notice the diffeent eye coloring body shapes of course but when they both fade their appearance pretty much the same ......faded with pearls.....some have red ,gold ,or Blk eyes so what physical or visual characteristics determine a red Texas.......
