Herichthys carpintis - 'Lago Lahillas, Mexico'

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Picked up the fish this weekend (Herichthys carpintis - 'Lago Lahillas, Mexico'). Got home and realized I had a female lahillas and a female chairel. Took the female chairel back and got the male lahillas. Although the differences were subtle, you could tell. The chairel has more lines and square shaped markings, the lahillas markings have more of a rounder shape, just as someone said earlier in this topic. They are 6 & 7 inches.

The pics arent the best as they are taken with my phone. Ill post some better ones when I bring my camera from work home tomorrow night. The pics are mainly of the different colors they went through getting acclimated to the tank and my red terrors.

Great looking fish. Well worth the wait.:headbang2

Thanks for the comments. Ill be posting WAY better pictures later this evening. Im amazed at their comfortableness in the tank after only 24 hrs. They are not aggressive towards the other fish. They are not shy, following anyone from one side to the other and will eat as soon as the food hits the water without any worry.

I have them in a 125 gal. with a 5 inch male red terror, 5 inch male convict and about 20 various dannios, tiger barbs and red tailed sharks. I had to remove my 7 inch female red terror because all she wants to do is kill everyone else, no matter what color, size etc. She might be on her way out the door, even as beautiful as she is.
