anyone have these or have pictures of these guys as adults, considering adding these to my prospective order from rapps but cant seem to find any pics of them as adults that are actually them (i keep getting results for a herichthys deppi pantepec but these arent the same thing are they?)

Nobody has these guys?

cool thanks i didnt see the pics on his page guess i must have missed over them are they a darker or lighter bluish color as the only pics i could find online looked like they had really washed out colors so you couldnt really tell

and thanks for the heads up on the bloat did you do anything special to keep yours from getting it? (like feed extra veggies or anything, or just your basic keep stress low until they reach certain size?)

ok saw the pic on rapps site so are the colors in the pic pretty accurate?

PM Ira. I'm not sure but I think he's getting some larger sized specimens. He could definitely give you a good description, if not a picture. Here's a photo of a young male at 2.5-3" that I took when I visited him last weekend.

cool thanks, hes already showing alot more color than some of the washed out flash photos iv seen online lol and yeah i will def send ira a pm, im really thinking about adding a couple of these guys to my order :) can you easily tell the sex at that age or was he vented?

Educated guess really. The fish in the photo was the largest, most boisterous and most dominant of the group it was with. Also very tall bodied with a little nuchal hump and, even though I didn't catch a pic of it, the characteristic black mask around the throat and mouth. I could be wrong though.

lol oh ok gotcha yeah i couldnt really see the mask in the pic but yeah now that you mention it I do see a little nuchal hump forming

Hi Sarah

I have this species, but sadly theyre still quite small and i have no pictures. But if you check out this link, theres an article by Don Danko that is quite interesting and has a few pictures. Hope this helps
