So Ive sold the pleco to get rid of the poop machine. And now Im looking to buy 3 Herichthys Pearsei so I can find which one will have the best color in the next 8 months or so. Then I will sell 2 of the Herichthys Pearsei so my stock would be 1x Herichthys Pearsei
1xOscar
1xFire eel
1xupside down catfish
The fire mouth will most likely have to go also...
Im planning on getting some more driftwood and plants to make more hiding spots.
Then in a year or two I plan on upgrading to a 220gal+
What do you think??
Will I need something else to keep the aggression down between my oscar and picked Herichthys Pearsei??

Beautiful oscar! I have two pearsi currently in my 125 with my albino tiger oscar. No aggression. However, my pearsi are smaller than my oscar, and were in the tank 1 day ahead of my oscar. But... that said, I've had no issues. I think you'll probably be okay.

Im getting the pearsi at around 4"-6" so they will be much smaller than the oscar. Hopefully this will make a difference. Then I will select the one or pair that fits my tank out of the 3...

Sounds like a solid plan to me. mine were 4 inches when I got them, and my oscar is about oh... 10 inches? He doesn't bother them.

I have raised pearsei with oscars, never had an issue. Great fish to have.good luck

Awesome thanks for the advice! If two of the 3 were to pair should I keep the one that isn't paired or the pair?? Im hoping to get the fish by tomorrow. Post pics when If i do!

I would keepthe pair if you have a large enough tank,if not keep the single one(even though it will need a large tank eventually)My biggest pearsei is 14 inches and very thick(17 months old had him since 2 iches)

My only concern is my tanks dimensions... 4'x24"x31"... This is why I look to upgrade in the next year or two. I will need a longer tank. Would a 180 make a big difference?? Or should I look more at the 220+ size? I also plan on buying some pieces of drift wood from MANZMAN tor create some more hiding spots.

a 180 would work,i curently have my largest pearsei in a 180. You will need to upgrade sooner than a year or two, they grow pretty fast is well taken care of.
Here is mine within a year.
