Some of you may recall that my piranha moves more than a person in the Witness Protection Program...

We've tried the 29, and in spite of the fact that he was very comfortable in it, was too small. Then we tried the 75, which, even though it was more than big enough for him and 2 plecos, was too big for him to be comfortable. So we tried our 35 gallon hex. (he's a verticle fish)

First, it was in my office, and while he was responsive for me, he was terrified of everyone else, so he hid most of the day, except late at night when I was on the computer. The back wall is painted black to make him think he was more privacy.

So, we moved him back upstairs (because I watch him as I drift off to sleep) and I took away the hidey that he was growing out of. So he hid amongst the plastic plants. I added a different hidey, which he refused to use..lol and removed it again a few days later. after I removed that hide, he's been more active (maybe settled in now) and he's back to interacting with me. I can get him to move away from the black walls for a picture (I run my finger in circles on the side wall) and since he's right next to the door, he doesn't freak out when my fiance and I walk past his tank anymore. He'll even eat in my presence again!!

Karajo and Demjor sent us somedecor (a pirate ship, and a obnoxious orange plant) and he loves the new decor, even checking it out, 5 minutes after we put it in!! ^^

BTW, the gravel is still obnoxious pink, and that orange plant ties in nicely!!

Look how big he's getting! ^^

I would be amazed if they don't. He shoals with those plecos, and it makes him feel more comfortable. There's not even a nipped fin on either fish!! ^^

Thanks, he's my baby, I got him at 2 inches back in August! I'm very proud of him!

Actually it's a combination of the two. Most of it is his food, cichlid pellets and f/d baby shrimp.

the obnoxious pink gravel is more for me than anything, but it sure doesn't hurt any!! ^^

it'll happen one day, even if it's in a years time. Glad it's out and about, plants are always a good way to make them feel more secure.
